It all started back in 1989 when a small mobile disco business formed which later went on to be known as Partysoundz Disco
Our business started to grow quickly, and not long afterwards we started getting requests for other event services, room theming, lighting and ausio visual so we did what any self respecting business would do, we went out and bought more equipment to be able to service our clients requests. Business continued to grow and we started to take on business in different areas including filming and pre-production but we started to notice there were times when people just didn’t hold events so we needed to find something else to support those quiet periods. Drawing on a strong grounding in computing and information technology, The IT Support Guys came into existence and started gaining a good client base.
These two ventures kept us busy for most of the year, and both businesses continued to grow. In the years that followed we continued to increase the services and equipment that we had to offer, and as the industry changed, so did we. We incorporated Rotraco Ltd. to enable us to carry out business with corporate clients and venues.
In 2007 we purchased our first photo booth to add to our hire stock and it soon became the must have accessary at practically every type of event. Sometimes though, people wanted something a little more formal for their event, so we also started providing mobile photo studios and awards photography. From this, Partypicz Photo Booth Hire & Event Photography was born.
The events side of our business continued to grow alongside our IT services which by then was also providing web design, hosting and domain registration services. In 2010 we decided that there was enough business to support a separate focus for our Audio Visual services so we created the trading name West Midlands Audio Visual. In 2016 we moved into (our current) larger premises in South Birmingham with easy access to the motorway network & City Centre.
Almost thirty years since it all began, in 2019 we completely re-branded out business and our new company GRT was formed to bring all of our media and event services together under one new company to allow us to continue to grow and serve our customers better. The same great people and the same great service with one new great company. GRT is the new name for our business, and together, #WeAreGRT
